Important Facts of MBBS Subjects
The MBBS course lasts for five and a half years, followed by an internship at a hospital for one year. The course employs a semester system. Each semester lasts for six months. MBBS subjects are taught across nine semesters in total.

Entrance Exams for MBBS
The National Medical Commission Act, 2019 has received the approval of the President, which provides the provision of holding a common and uniform exam for admission to undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions governed under any other law. The common exam goes by the name National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test or NEET short. So now, admission for the MBBS program in institutes like AIIMS, JIPMER, etc., is also carried out through the NEET-UG exam.
The exam is conducted in 13 languages, including English and Hindi. Every year the National Testing Agency or NTA releases an information bulletin, which has all the details regarding the exam, such as important dates regarding the exam. The examination scheme, syllabus, pattern, mode, & duration of the exam, and all the other details.
The exam is of 720 marks with four subjects- Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology- each having 50 questions and 180 marks. All of them are multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each correct answer carries +4 marks, and each incorrect answer carries a -1 mark. The duration of the exam is 3 hours.
The students who wish to apply for this exam should check the eligibility criteria, which are as follows:
Age limit- Minimum 17 years of age, along with relaxation for the upper age limit for reservation category students. The upper age limit factor is under trial at the apex court.
The candidate should have English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as the main subjects in their Class 12.
Once the entrance test result is declared, the candidates who pass the exam are called in for counselling at different colleges according to the score they obtained in the entrance exam. In addition to, the aspiring candidates can also practise NEET mock tests to keep a track of their preparation level.
Syllabus for Distance Program in MBBS
