What is CLAT Exam?
The Common Law Admission Test, also known as CLAT is a national-level law entrance exam that is conducted by the Consortium of NLUs for admission to 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses. The exam is conducted for admission to 24 NLUs for UG courses and 21 NLUs for PG courses. The exam is conducted in the offline, pen and paper format wherein candidates have to attempt questions from English, Current Affairs and GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Mathematics for UG course, and from Constitutional Law, and other law subjects like Jurisprudence, Torts, IPC, CrPC, CPC, Family Law, and IPR.

CLAT is one of the most important law entrance exams in the country and is the most difficult to crack. About 1 lakh candidates appeared for the CLAT exam this year. This year, 97.03% of the candidates registered for the CLAT 2024 Undergraduate test, and 93.92% of the candidates registered for the CLAT 2024 Postgraduate test appeared in the exam. The Consortium of NLUs has stated, “The overall attendance percentage for CLAT 2024 was 96.45%. Of the candidates who appeared for CLAT 2024, 57% are Females, 43% are Males, and 6 candidates are Transgender.”
CLAT 2024 Cutoff
The Consortium of NLUs will release the NLU-wise CLAT cut-off for the 5-year integrated and one-year LLM programs after each round. CLAT 2024 Third Merit List was released on January 22. CLAT 2024 Second Merit List was released on January 8, 2024. On December 26, 2023, the CNLU released CLAT 2024 First Seat Allotment List. The cutoffs are category-specific and indicate the minimum marks (or ranks) one needs to secure in one’s given category to be considered for admission.
CLAT cutoff 2024 for participating NLUs is determined considering the following points:
- The seat intake for the program applied for admission
- Total number of candidates seeking admission to that course
- The CLAT 2024 merit rank of the applicants
- Category under which admission is sought
- NIRF Ranking (if available) of the applied NLU.
CLAT 2024 Counselling
The counselling process of CLAT 2024 will be conducted in online mode on the official website of Consortium of NLUs; i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac. CLAT Counselling Registration 2024 was done from December 12 to December 20, 2023. Candidates who will be shortlisted for CLAT 2024 admission process will be asked to exercise their options to accept, revise or withdraw from the seat allotment process before the last date. Those accepting or applying for seat upgrades will be asked to pay the confirmation fee to hold the seat. The admission process for CLAT 2024 will conclude with five rounds of the counselling process. CLAT 2024 First Allotment List was released on December 26. CLAT second merit list 2024 was released on January 8, 2024. CLAT 2024 Third Merit List was released on January 22, 2024.

CLAT counselling process is completely online including, registration, publishing of the merit list, and then seat allotment as per the preferences marked by candidates. Candidates can accept or upgrade or exit from their allotted seat in any round of counselling. Once their choice of seat is allotted then they can complete their admission by paying the counselling and admission fee as required.

CLAT Counselling Fee Refund
The CLAT counselling fee of INR 50,000 paid at the time of registration is refundable. However, candidates should keep in mind the below points:
- The fee will be fully refunded if candidates withdraw their seat before the last date
- A deduction of INR 10,000 to the total counselling fee will be done if candidates withdraw their seat after the last date
If candidates are found ineligible during document verification then their admission will be cancelled. Such candidates will get refund INR 40,000 after deduction of processing charges.

CLAT 2024 Admit Card
The Consortium released the CLAT 2024 admit card on November 21, 2023. Candidates were able to download the hall ticket for CLAT 2024 from the official website until 1.30 pm of December 3. Candidates could download CLAT Admit Card 2024 as per the steps below:

CLAT admit card is an important and mandatory document to be carried on exam day and for admission to the allotted NLUs during the counselling process. Candidates must carry a valid ID proof (with photo on it) along with the admit card on the exam day.

CLAT 2024 Exam Day Guidelines
The CLAT 2024 admit card carried all the important guidelines that candidates had to follow on the day of the exam. CLAT 2024 Exam Analysis
With many conceptual problems, the logical section was moderately long. The English exam was similarly long but not too hard, with a lot of vocabulary problems. Arithmetic was challenging. There were some unexpected themes, and general awareness was only mediocre. By moderate, legal was a little bit long. It was, all in all, fairly long.
