- During the first six semesters, various laws and specific disciplines are combined, along with the English language, forming part of the syllabus. The last four semesters have various laws, clinics and seminars where the students receive hands-on training for their profession.
- The core subjects and their credits would be fixed, but the credit for electives, clinics and seminars would vary depending upon the title of the course. For instance, the National Law University, Delhi, has a standard credit score of 3 and 4 for core subjects and electives. Seminars and Clinics have credit scores of 5 and 6, respectively. The total credit scores by the end of the 10th semester should be 200. It is at the student’s discretion to gain more credits than the minimum requirement. However, the grading system varies from one college to the other.

This is considered the largest national level entrance exam for BA LLB. The results of the CLAT allows colleges to assess the students’ potential.
